Ayurvedic Skin Types and How to take Care of them

Every woman dreams of a beautiful glowing skin that every man appreciates. This is because; it is a normal human behavior to get attracted towards people with clean and clear skin. It is a symbol of healthy body.

Know your Ayurvedic skin types

In order to have a holistic approach towards skin care, it is very important to find out your Ayurvedic skin type. Here they are:

There are 3 psychophysiological principles, Pitt, Vata, and Kapha called Doshas. All the activities in the body, as well as mind (emotional and mental tendencies), are governed by all these Doshas. Vata Dosha is mostly in the space and air, Pitta is water and fire, and Kapha is earth and water. According to the Ayurvedic skin type, the skin can be Vata, Pitta or Kapha or a combination of any of the two.

The Vata skin is, in general, thin, dry, and cool. This type of skin gets dehydrated very easily due to change in diet, climate, and lifestyle. Those who have Pitta skin tends to have frequent breakouts as a result of hot food and temperature. Also, the Pitta skin is warm to the touch. Coming to Kapha, this type of skin is very thick, greasy, and tolerant to the sun.

If the skin is a combination of any of the two, for example, Vata-Pitta, then it is both dry as well as sensitive. Vata-Kapha skin has some oil zones but is usually dry. However, the Kapha-Pitta skin is oily and sensitive.

Here are a few Ayurvedic tips and tricks in order to slow down the accumulation of Doshas in the body and keeps the skin beautiful.

Always stick to the veggies

Most of the veggies are very rich in water and have purifying properties. The veggies rich in water include carrot, radish, lettuce, cucumber, and other. These veggies are also tridoshic, means good for all 3 Ayurveda skin types.

Go get moving

Jogging and exercising is good for every skin type and prevents the Doshas from accumulating. Every doctor and skin care experts recommend exercising in order to keep the joints as well as muscles toned and healthy. When you exercise, you sweat out the toxin that helps to improve the blood circulation.
You should love it and have fun moving your body.

Start eating nuts and seeds

Don’t take the meaning of above another way, it simply means adding nuts and seeds to the diet. Regular intake of nuts and seeds helps a lot in improving the skin condition and preventing the imbalance. These seeds and nuts are very rich in Omega-3, healthy fiber, and fats which are perfect for those with Vata digestion.

Keep yourself hydrated

Water accounts 60 percent of the whole body and is very important for each and every cell. This is why keeping the skin cells hydrated all through the day is very important. Drink more water as well as warm liquids like tea and keep the digestion healthy and skin glow.

Go for regular moisturizing of skin

Keeping the body hydrated from the inside is important, the same way it is important to keep the skin hydrated from outside. If possible, massage the entire body with the help of herbal skin oil every day. It is recommended to use herbal oils because it provides maximum hydration to the skin. Just try it and see the magic of herbal skin care on your body. You can also go for skin moisturizers to provide moisture to every deepest layer of the skin. Using Ayurvedic oil is also a lot cheaper than chemical-loaded lotions commonly found at every online pharmacy.

Have proper sleep

One more reason for bad skin or not so good skin is insomnia or lack of sleep. Therefore, take at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day to have a healthy skin and glowing complexion. In case you are suffering from insomnia/sleeplessness, then go for an herbal treatment for insomnia.

Last but not least, go for meditation. Doing so regularly helps a lot in feeling ageless and eternally vibrant.
